Seven Ways to Save on Energy Costs this Holiday Season
1.Swap your old Incandescent Holiday string lights for an energy saving LED decorated lights.
Every year, million of homes put up holiday lights that drastically increase their energy costs during the holiday season. This year, you can save hundreds of dollars if you consider swapping out your old incandescent lights for a Light Emitting Diode (LED) holiday lights. Look for LED light with Energy Star Label on it.
There are few facts you need to know about Holiday LED lights –
. This decorative light uses 96% less energy than conventional incandescent light.
. LED decorative light last 10 times longer than your regular incandescent light
. LED is more focus and therefore the light goes to where you need it.
. You can earn up to $40 in Electric bill credit if you invest in LED lights between 1 October to 31 December 2015.

OK, if you really want to save money during this holiday season, you can get up to $20 incentive just by changing your household light bulb to LED. In addition to the incentive you will be saving additional $0.78 per month on each incandescent light bulb that you swap to LED. In a year that is $9.36 per light bulb. Imagine how much you could save if you have 10 of these lights around your home? Do the math!
4.Increase your home Insulation.
I don’t know about you, but many of us do not like the cold. We learn to tolerate it. Thank God that North Carolina is not the same as Upper State NY during the winter months. I can only imagine how much people pays to keep their home warm during this time of the year. Do you know that you can get up to $300 incentives just for increasing the insulation of your home? In addition to that, you can claim write off certain percentage of this cost off on your taxes (Talk to your Accountant for more information on Tax write-off).
